Nein, das trifft wohl den Kern der Sache. Sonst könnten die
Discounter und co. ihren Kunden ja nicht jeden Müll aufschwatzen.
Nicht, das ich diese Firmen nicht verstehen würde, wenn ich das
Produkt teurer mache, kann ich bei gleicher Stückzahl auch mehr
Gewinn einfahren. Schliesslich schlagen die bei steigendem Preis ja
auch noch extra was drauf.

Jepp, wobei man mit der “billig” Cherry Tastatur auch in einigen
Jahren immer noch arbeiten kann (2 meiner Tastaturen zuhause sind 6
bzw. 7 Jahre alte Cherrys, die 1a arbeiten).
56k Fax-Modem wird doch nur noch integriert damit man die Feature
Liste verlängern kann und weil die Dinger im Vergleich zu den
restlichen Komponenten quasi “gratis” sind. Ich würde mir nur nie ein
“Winmodem” aufschwatzen lassen, da die Dinger eh nur Probleme machen. Die wenigsten Leute nutzen ihren PC wirklich als TV und die wenigen
die dies tun legen sich dann eigentlich gleich was “besseres” zu.
Da die 5 USB 2.0 Anschlüsse wohl wenig Aufpreis gekostet haben kann
man die denke ich mal durchgehen lassen, auch wenn sie eigentlich
überdimensioniert sind 
Was die CPU angeht könnte man sich da wahrscheinlich jetzt wieder
Stundenlang darüber streiten, wobei ich selbst auch AMD CPUs
Favorisiere, aber jedem wie er es verdient und da Medion es wohl
nicht schafft kann man sich ja seinen “PC von der Stange” bei Lidl
mit AMD CPU kaufen (Targa).

Jepp, das scheinen die meisten Leute gar nicht mehr zu realisieren.
Das schlimmste daran ist, diesen Leuten würde schon ein PC für 500
Euro völlig ausreichen (Athlon XP 2000 , 256MB RAM, 80GB HDD, Geforce
4 MX 440, DVD-Rom etc.).

Ich habs vorhin mal zum Spass zusammen gerechnet. Ich komme mit nem
PIV 2,66 und ner WD1800JB) auf ziemlich genau den gleichen Preis > Und ein verwendbares Windoof hat man entweder eh noch rumliegen oder

Außerdem muss ich mir dann nicht Windows XP aufs Auge drücken lassen.

Jepp, außerdem musst du da nicht den gesammten PC einschicken,
sondern bekommst meist sofort (wenn man keine exotische Komponenten
hat, haben sie ja meist noch Teile da) oder nach wenigen Tagen das
Ersatzteil eingebaut und gut isses.
Bei uns hier gibt es ne Elektronik “Kette”, die nennt sich
Schlagenhauf (Expert), die haben bei nem Bekannten 2 Wochen gebraucht
um herauszufinden wo der Fehler liegt (Lüfter ausgefallen und CPU
gebrutzelt) und nochmal 2 Wochen bis sie das Ersatzteil hatten…
Ach ja, das war ein PIII.

Jepp, so sehe ich das auch, vor allem da die DVD Brenner ohnehin noch
so teuer sind, das man da ruhig noch ein paar Euro als Zukunfts
Investition drauflegen kann.
Soweit ich weis gibt es auch nen NEC Brenner der alles frisst.

Jo, wobei wir das ja gut aus der Anfangszeit der CD Brenner und CD
Rohlinge kenne. Ich denke mal da werden sich auch in Kürze ein paar
“billig” Marken finden lassen, die trotzdem ordentliche Qualität
bieten.
