… na ich weiss ja nicht ob PC Maclan gerade als schnell
bezeichnet werden kann? Aber weil wir gerade beim Thema und
schon mitten im verregneten Wochenende sind: Was gibt es denn
noch fuer Tipps vom Mac aus auf einen am (Windows-) PC
angeschlossenen Nichtpostscript-Drucker zu drucken? Wir verwenden
seit bald fuenf Jahren zu unserer voelligen Zufriedenheit den
Redmon Port Monitor mit Aladdin Ghostscript und PC Maclan. Auf
einem anderen System wollte ich dann die gleiche Loesung fuer
einen HP Deskjet 710c einrichten und musste feststellen, dass
Ghostscript da ein Problem hat (obwohl der gleiche Drucker unter
Linux astrein druckt!!). Der Grund scheint zu sein, dass bestimmte
HP Deskjet Modelle keine normale PCL mehr verstehen, so dass ich
fuer die Ghostscript Device-Konfiguration mswinpr2 verwenden muss.
Die Sache laeuft inakzeptabel instabil und ich muesste auch
jedesmal zum Druckserver rennen um dort die Drucker-Dialogbox
manuell zu bestaetigen. Da Linux aus anderen Gruenden leider
nicht in Frage kommt, habe ich bisher noch keine andere Loesung
gefunden, als einen alten Deskjet 550c anzuschliessen, der dann
auch wacker losrattert (ein update des installierten PC Maclan
version 6.1 scheidet hier bisher aus, weil es mehr kostet als
ein neuer Drucker und uns Miramar damit frueher schon mal
veralbert hat). Fuer einen besseren Vorschlag waere ich dankbar.
